Asheville’s Window to the Universe
Lookout Observatory is dedicated to helping UNC Asheville students and community members of all ages and interest levels understand and enjoy astronomy. UNC Asheville and the Astronomy Club of Asheville regularly offer free events at the observatory that are open to the public, as well as scheduled visits for schools and other organized groups. Come join us at our next event or contact us with interest for a group visit.
Due to the impacts of hurricane Helene on the UNCA campus infrastructure, our stargaze scheduled for Friday, October 25th has been canceled. Note that the Astronomy Club of Asheville do plan to host a stargaze that night at their Grassland Mountain Observatory. See our registration page for details of when and how to register for the next stargaze.
To keep updated on all our events please join our mailing list by filling by filling out the Lookout Observatory Mailing List Form to be notified when registration will open.
